Every family has their holiday traditions. For the last 14 years ours has included a bunny shaped out of bread. Somewhere in the last seven years or so the tradition has also included the unseen assassination of the bread bunny. We will be puttering around my parent's house preparing the meal and at some point look over to the kitchen table and see this . . .
At least this year the bunny had a fighting chance. The past few years he has gotten the knife in the back and had no chance to defend himself. By the way, this is a whole wheat Hunny Bunny from Great Harvest Bread Company and while it is stupidly expensive it is also very, very tasty. The meal also consisted of a fabulous dessert that I love making. These are phyllo flower cheesecakes with strawberry-rhubarb compote (or compost, as Kevin likes to say). Mmmmm. . . spring tastes good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Isn't the bunny already dead if it comes wrapped in plastic.
